Transformation into a human-centered organization
This also applies to business. It is not enough to focus solely on a product, service, employee skills, or organizational structures. It goes much further than that—it’s about the atmosphere within the organization.
Humans are made to connect and grow together, including in the workplace. That’s what brings us happiness! The better someone feels, the more enjoyable it is to collaborate. Creating a positive and supportive work environment for all employees is therefore essential.

Being yourself and growing within an organization
Paula emphasizes: “When there’s space to discover and utilize your talents, you can grow tremendously as an individual. And that’s what it’s all about today. We strive for fulfillment in our work and seek recognition for who we truly are. Everyone is unique and works in their own way. Competition or conflict is unnecessary.
In an ideal world, you go to work with a smile, fully utilize your potential, and enjoy yourself with colleagues. The energy on the work floor ensures you feel good and leave energized. Then, at home, you’re also a happier and more active person.”
How can employers facilitate this?
According to Paula, this can be done using Feng Shui—what she calls “Happy Vibes.” Feng Shui is an Eastern philosophy focused on harmony and balance within a space. It promotes positive energy and well-being through the arrangement of rooms, thoughtful placement of furniture, objects, plants, colors, and decorations.
Think of a brainstorming room in the right location or a space to unwind. Or a relaxation area where employees can recharge. This way, you create a positive atmosphere while also catering to the needs of all employees.
Meer dan alleen Feng Shui
A well-designed space alone does not guarantee “Happy Vibes.” It starts, as with most things in life, with yourself. You need to feel good in your own skin to fully receive that positive energy. Many people feel fear or resistance when it comes to showing vulnerability, yet vulnerability is actually a great strength.
According to Paula van Diepen, a breathing ceremony at the workplace is a good idea. Sometimes it brings complete calm and relaxation; other times it provides insights that help you move forward. It brings you closer to yourself and your colleagues, fostering mutual understanding, acceptance, and deeper connections in your relationships.
Paula’s vision
“My vision is that an organization has a higher purpose than merely providing work and generating profit. Beyond these goals, you can also create a community where everyone feels the space and trust to develop themselves and experience the joy and value of sustainable relationships.”
