About this project
For Studocu, BESPARK realized an energetic and future-oriented work environment on the Reguliersdwarsstraat in Amsterdam in a short period of time. A former parking garage was transformed into a bright, playful, and professional workplace where Studocu’s identity and culture take center stage. With 80 workstations, multifunctional spaces, and striking details such as the music room and disco toilets, it has become a place where collaboration, meeting, and celebration come together.
Studocu’s move to a larger building offered the opportunity to create a work environment that not only accommodates growth but also makes Studocu’s culture and identity tangible. The building itself has a unique character: it was originally a parking garage, featuring a striking circular ramp that now forms part of the office interior.
The starting point was clear: one large, shared workspace and one multifunctional restaurant floor. A professional and calm foundation was combined with a young, playful appearance. This resulted in an environment where employees work closely together and meet each other easily.
A recognizable Studocu work environment
Studocu’s identity is clearly reflected in the interior. A calm, natural base brings warmth to the building, complemented by color accents from the brand identity. Playful furniture and details, such as the mirrored wall near the pantry and the lime-green arch, give the office a young and unique look.
Studocu’s culture also found a place in the design. The multifunctional music room and the restaurant offer space to collaborate, relax, and celebrate successes. The disco toilets provide a surprising nod to Studocu’s festive culture.
Sustainability in the design
Sustainability played an important role in both the design and the execution. Wherever possible, the existing layout was utilized, and existing elements and materials were preserved. The new interior combines new furniture with sourced and second-hand furniture. Studocu’s desks were also reused. By targeted sourcing, it was possible not only to save CO₂ but also to bypass long delivery times.
In total, BESPARK renewed the floor finishes, painted walls and columns, and coated the internal staircase in Studocu’s colors. Additionally, four new toilets were added, and the existing pantry with seating area was renovated.
