Commissioned by Union Street and in collaboration with asset manager Spring Real Estate, BESPARK transformed this distinctive monumental building into a modern office space, without losing what makes the building so unique.
A notable intervention is the introduction of gender neutral toilets, reflecting attention to equality and modern working environments. Both visually and functionally, the herringbone pattern guides visitors more logically and attractively through the different wings of the impressive building.
The challenge lay in the complexity of the building with its multiple wings. BESPARK saw this as an opportunity and created a consistent user experience in which each space logically connects to the historical structure, but with a modern twist. It is a tribute to design that merges old and new elements into one cohesive whole.
